Ethernet Cable

Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat 6 Ethernet Patch Cable, 15 ft

The official Green resources identify an RJ45 Ethernet port. This 15-foot Cat6 patch cable has standard RJ45 connectors, so it can make a short indoor connection to a router or switch. Actual link rate is limited by both ports, the complete cable run, and the installation; this listing alone is not evidence of 5 or 10 Gb/s operation. Use separately rated Cat6A, permanent-run, outdoor, UV-resistant, direct-burial, or PoE cabling wherever the device or site requires it.

Model details

Additional useful information

Use this Scanual guide to identify Home Assistant Home Assistant Green Smart-Home Hub, follow official setup and reset guidance, and match power, radio, mounting, hub, and regional accessories to model Green.

Home Assistant Green is a preinstalled local automation appliance with Ethernet, 4GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, USB expansion, and no built-in Wi-Fi or smart-home radio.

Setup: Connect Green by Ethernet, attach the 12V center-positive supply, wait for Home Assistant OS to initialize, and complete onboarding from a browser or the mobile app before adding integrations.

Reset: The official reset/reinstall process uses recovery media and erases local storage while installing a current image. Create and download a backup before starting, then restore only after onboarding succeeds.

Troubleshooting: For no discovery, inspect power LEDs, Ethernet link, DHCP lease, DNS or mDNS, and try the assigned IP address. USB-radio issues should be isolated from the core Ethernet appliance.

Compatibility and ecosystem boundary: Green is not itself a Zigbee, Thread, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi hub until supported external radios are added. Matter-over-Thread also needs an appropriate Thread radio and integration configuration.

Maintenance and accessory matching: Use the exact 12V barrel specification, reliable Ethernet, and supported USB radios on short extension leads. Maintain off-device backups because eMMC reinstall and hardware replacement need a recoverable configuration.
