ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced controls supported 24VAC conventional or heat-pump HVAC, uses a C wire or included PEK, and adds radar occupancy plus dual-band Wi-Fi.
Setup: Turn HVAC power off, photograph every original conductor and terminal, run ecobee's compatibility checker, wire R and C or an approved PEK layout, restore power, and configure equipment stages accurately.
Reset: Use the thermostat Settings reset menu for registration or full reset only after recording wiring and equipment configuration. A full reset removes schedules, account registration, integrations, and sensor pairing.
Troubleshooting: If the display is blank, verify the service switch, breaker, furnace-door interlock, control-board fuse, R-to-C voltage, and PEK wiring. Cycling or wrong temperatures require checking equipment configuration and sensor participation.
Compatibility and ecosystem boundary: Enhanced is for supported 24VAC controls, not 120/240V baseboard circuits or millivolt systems. It supports fewer heat-pump auxiliary stages and fewer accessory-wire configurations than Premium.
